If you hang around the gym or spend any time in weightlifting forums, you’ve probably heard about using the 3×3 (3 sets of 3 reps) protocol to build maximum strength.  Most people are familiar with this program because of the writings of the  “evil Russian” Pavel, especially his Power to the People and Beyond Bodybuilding.  I’ve used this protocol myself to increase my dip and pull-up numbers by wearing a weighted vest.  But, this post is not about training; it’s about nutrition.

So, one day after emailing back and forth with a couple of my close blogger buddies, Dr. Kal Chinyere, whose fat loss story I’ve highlighted, and Pete Thomas, of The Biggest Loser fame, about the whole notion of cycling your fat loss, I wondered if one could adapt the 3×3 strength gaining protocol to be used with nutrition. Well, I thought I’d post a short note about some good news I got this week.  This morning I’m headed to West Hollywood to drop to meet with the casting directors of LA Ink for the second time.  I’ve made it to the final step before actually getting my tattoo done by one of the great tattoo artists they have on their show. Bodyweight Training in Colombia …

One thing that I love about bodyweight exercises is that you can literally do them anywhere, and, best of all, there’s no language barrier ;)

We’ve all seen the incredible exercises that The Bartendaz perform on simple playground equipment, and it appears that this “back to basics” style of training is crossing borders!  With the help of youtube, guys and gals from all over the world are posting their Bartendaz inspired routines done in the park.

Whether I’m at home or at work, this is usually what I hear when someone sits down to use my computer.  As soon as they need to use the mouse to click on something, they instantly become frustrated because I have my mouse setup for a left-hander. Jack Lalanne’s 10 Point Plan
