Homemade Dumb-bells For Under $30!
After reading a discussion thread over at my buddy Ross Enamit’s forum a couple of months ago, I’ve been dying to make a pair of these.
Yeah, I know that they have cheap DB handles at Walmart with the screw on collar locks, but they are too short to handle heavy loads. Oh, and the reviews that I’ve read about them have been less than stellar.
Also, I just get a kick out of building things. After building a club-bell out of pipes and fittings from Lowe’s and a set of parallelettes out of PVC pipes, I guess I’ve been bitten by the DIY’er fitness equipment bug! (more…)

You guys know that I like the information that Craig Ballantyne gives out. So, when I came across his series of videos pitting various cardio exercises versus diet, I thought you’d guys would get a kick out of them.
He’s just driving home the point that you can’t out exercise a bad diet, no matter which fitness tool or program you use.

Walter Breuning. who recently turned 113, weighs in at 125 pounds standing 5 foot 8. He says that he has kept his weight the same for more than 35 years by simply eating two large meals a day (breakfast and lunch) while snacking on fruit. (more…)
