Guess Who Speaks German?
So, I get an email from my blog’s hosting service because they think that my blog was under attack. My hosting service gave me detailed reasons and what they were going to do to fix it.
Well, I noticed a big spike in the traffic to my blog, but I had no idea why. I was just hoping that my blog wouldn’t be totally compromised.
Then, a really strange thing happened.
I started to get emails from folks in Germany! Now, I have received email from international readers, but never from the same country back to back. (more…)
MLBF’s Blog on Budget Life’s Top 25 List
Hey fellas; I’m going to make this one brief.
However, don’t fret because Monday I’m going to make my new Training Blog available to you.
I know that I have not been posting videos of my “practice” sessions for a couple of months, but please don’t think that means that I have not been training!
On the contrary, I’ve been training consistently since November of last year, and I’m definitely seeing the fruits of my labor. (more…)

Since I’ve been reading muscle and strength building courses written from as far back as the early 1900s, I rarely recommend any of the recently published ones.
However, after reading Jason Ferruggia’s Muscle Gaining Secrets, I knew that I would suggest that more folks check it out. Don’t be turned off by the title because Jason’s approach is based on the way old-timers trained, using compound/multi-joint exercises, heavy weight, and moderate reps.
Personally, I like his writing style, and the concepts he explains are simple to grasp for the non-bodybuilder. (more…)
The Diet Wars Are Over
List of posts in Articles by Tom Venuto
Hey guys! Well, it appears that my buddy Tom Venuto is looking over my shoulder when I type drafts of my post because he keeps stealing my ideas
As 2010 rolled around, I was considering blogging about how meaningless and how over the so-called Diet Wars are.
Well, he beat me to the punch; so instead of re-creating the wheel, I’m going to re-post what he had to say at his blog. (more…)

After having a long chat with my Compadre the other day, I decided that I would start a new series.
My “Compa” was in the garage doing what he calls his “stress relieving” pull-ups while I was practicing my bent press form with my kettlebell, and I was just talking to him about the handful of really useful advice I got before I started my journey.
However, for whatever reason, I just wasn’t ready to either pay attention or even care about the great lessons I was being taught by various folks.
Well, this series will note some of those lessons that was initially missed, but have now finally found their mark!
One story in particular that my Compa really liked was this one . . . (more…)

OK fellas, I know that this may be a strange title considering that I’m adding it to my Big Dawg series of post, but the idea for this post came about after chatting with my 71 year-old mother this weekend.
We chatted about the usual topics: work, Muata Jr, the weather, etc. But, then we started to talk about one of her favorite TV doctors, Dr. Oz. As she went on to tell me about how he was recently on Oprah’s show, my mom switched gears and started to talk about Oprah’s issues with yo-yo dieting.
“You know, Oprah said that she’s addicted to food.”
